Lock Upp’s Payal Rohatgi left everyone in a state of shock with her recent revelations on the show. The actress, who is trying to resurrect her career with her stint on this reality show, has come out about her deepest secrets. Payal has spoken about being an alcoholic once, having suicidal tendencies, her infertility and a lot more. Here’s a look at the shocking revelations made by Payal Rohatgi on Lock Upp:
“I used to drink for 48 hours non-stop”
In the latest episode of Lock Upp, Payal Rohatgi came out about becoming an alcoholic after her Bigg Boss 2 stint. She blamed the negative fame she earned through the reality show and said that it led her to get into alcohol abuse. “Waha par ek love angle tha jo bahut detrimental tha meri life mein. Post that show, I got famous but I got famous negatively. People use tot think that I’m a side kick because us show mein kisi ne bola tha kabhi mann kare to pizza khao kabhi mann kare to pao bhaji khao, so I became one of those types. I got heavily into drinking, I used to drink for 48 hours non-stop, and I was an alcoholic. Meri mummy ko nahi pata tha us samay, my father was separated. Maine itna alcohol piya hai un mahino mein, mujhe nahi pata hota tha ki din hoti thi raat hoti thi. I used to be on prescription drugs, I used to smoke. Aur main bhagwan ko bas itna bolti thi mujhe agar ek accha ladka mil jaye I will leave everything,” she shared.
Payal attempted suicide
While revealing about her alcoholism, Payal also opened up about having suicidal tendencies too. As she talked about negative fame, love angle in reality show that had a detrimental affect on her and more. Payal revealed that during the difficult phase of her life she even went on to attempt sucide. “I was so sloshed, I used to be suicidal, I’ve tried to cut my hand because tab main akeli rehti thi. That is why I don’t have friends since Sangram came into my life. Kyunki mera God ko promise tha the moment I get a nice man who doesn’t say kabhi bhukh lage to pao bhaji khao kabhi bhukh lage to pizza khao I will give it up. “I can't have kids”
In another episode, Payal Rohatgi made a big revelation about being infertile. The actress shared that she has been trying to concieve for years but has been unsuccessful. She also revealed that she has asked her fiance Sangram Singh to marry another girl, who can give her a child. “I can't have kids. Maine socha hum shaadi tab karege, when I can get pregnant. So, I have to be fit mentally and physically, concentrate on acting and go on with life. It's okay to not get pregnant. 4-5 saal se hum log try kar rahe hai, nhi ho raha. So now, Sangram has to figure it, she added, “I tell Sangram to get married to a girl who can give him a child. I've always told him this because I can't give him a child. This is not part of my secret because I never wanted to reveal. I never freeze my eggs, I tell girls to freeze their eggs because career ke chakkar mein they delay.”
‘Sangram tells me that he wants a mad kid like me’
Payal has had several major breakdowns on the show. Most of them were when she opened up about the deep secrets of her life in front of the world. Revealing about her infertility was such a moment. After revealing that she cannot get pregnant Payal had disclosed that she plans to go for surrogacy or adoption, which would require her to get married. She shared, “I will go for surrogacy, Sangram always tells me that he wants a mad kid like me, but I can't give him. I will adopt a kid. Karanvir used to tell me when you have a child, you become a mother. I would zone out and zone in. I will adopt and that's why I need marriage on paper because doctors say 'aapki shaadi hogayi hai kaagaz leke aao, they say live-in nahi, get your marriage certificate. I will get the marriage on paper.”
Opening up about her bipolar disorder
It was some time back that Payal Rohatgi disclosed about having been diagnosed with bipolar disorder in the past. It was when Nisha Rawal, who was also a part of the game then, got into a disagreement with Zeeshan Khan over his statement on the mental disorder. His remark triggered Nisha Rawal, who has been diagnosed with the condition too. She got emotional and left for the washroom after her argument with Zeeshan. Payal Rohatgi followed her to console her. During the same, Payal revealed, “Nisha, do you know even I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. I know what you are feeling right now or are going through or what you want to address.”
‘I did vashikaran to save my career’
During her initial days in Lock upp, Payal Rohatgi disclosed about trying tantric puja to give her career a push. It was on a judgement day that she came out about this in front of Kangana Ranaut. She said, “I have been in the industry for 15 years and there was a time when my career was not doing well. Shockingly or unschockingly, maine tantric puja kari thi apne career ko push dene k liye. I don’t think any educated women, woman or a professional think that career ko aage le jaane k liye tantric puja kare. Even if you do, they it should be hidden. There was something called vashikaran, which I had done. There was pujari in Delhi, he told me to think about the person, or brings any of that person’s possession, jisko control me dikhane hai. So I did many things. But nothing of it helped me. I had this fear that if I tell anything to anyone, or my mom that I did vashikaran to save my career and it didn’t help me, people would make fun of me. This has been a secret, which I don’t think any professional would seek to push their career.”
