Rahil Azam: My parents are my first priority, work comes later
Actor Rahil Azam, currently seen as Parag Kothari in Anupamaa, says the ongoing storyline around elderly parents being mistreated deeply resonates with him — because for him, his parents are everything. “I have always lived life at my own pace, in my own world. And my parents are my world,” Rahil says.
Reflecting on his bond with them, he adds, “Right from the time I was born, from the time I gained my senses, the people who held my little finger and taught me how to walk — I can never repay that, even in 10 rebirths. So it’s not something that has changed with time. I have always been protective of them.”
Rahil makes it clear that respect for parents is non-negotiable in his life. “I would never allow anyone in my closest vicinity who might give them negative energy or indicate any sort of disrespect towards my parents or elders. I don’t tolerate such nonsense,” he says. “Wherever I’ve taken my parents, they’ve always received the utmost respect. It’s your duty, and you have to do it.”
Despite a busy shooting schedule, Rahil ensures his parents are cared for. “Even if I’m tied up with work, someone who loves them as much as I do is always around them. I’m constantly on calls to check if they need anything. My parents are my first priority. Work comes later.”
