Rannvijay Singha to Neha Dhupia; here's what the gang leaders said about quitting Roadies

The popular youth-based show, Roadies is seeing a 360 degree change with a new panel of judges. Gang leaders like Rannvijay Singha, Nikhil Chinapa, Neha Dhupia, and many others had to leave the show and are emotional about not being a part of the show anymore. They've expressed their emotions through various interviews about Roadies and how they are attached to the show. Let's take a look at who said what about Roadies: (All Photos - Instagram)

Rannvijay Singha

Rannvijay Singha, who participated in this youth-based reality show, Roadies, was a presenter and a gang leader from 2004 to 2021. Speaking about not being a part of the show anymore, he said that nobody can love the show as much I do. In an exclusive interview with ETimes TV, Rannvijay said, "When I started doing Roadies nobody knew what it was. What Roadies has become is because I’ve been part of it of course it is like my baby. Ab baby bada hogaya 18 saal ka hogaya… jab maa baap apne bacchon ko bejhte hain bahar Kabhi with a heavy heart…it’s that kind of situation. Of course I feel because I’ve been connected to it. I am more connected to Roadies than any fan or employee because nobody has been part of the journey for 18 years. So Mujhse zyaada Roadies se pyaar Aur Kaun kar sakta hai… but even I had to leave my house and go to boarding school. There are times when you have to do things but it’s not necessary. There is always a big reason behind it. There’s no change in relationship with the channel because for me doing Roadies always work for the channel and it is the same for me. I wish I could do this and also the other things which I was committed to do but it didn’t work out that way."

Neha Dhupia

Neha Dhupia, who spent half a decade on Roadies as a gang leader, also won't be seen this year. Talking to an entertainment portal, Neha shared, "This year, I am not going to be a part of Roadies either. More than me, it’s just heartbreaking to see Rannvijay not being a part of it, and obviously reasons are best known to him and to the network."

4/7

Nikhil Chinapa

Nikhil Chinapa was also seen as a contestant, gang leader, and even as a judge on Roadies, will be missing from the show. In an exclusive interview with BT, Nikhil said that he is very disappointed. "I am disappointed that I wont be a part of Roadies now. They have changed the format, so none of my colleagues will be part of it either. We used to look forward to the show every year and it would be great fun. I started off as someone who selected the contestants, then as a gang leader, and I was also actively a part of the selection process for many years. It used to be a challenging journey, interacting with the crew and we contributed to the making of the show."

Prince Narula

Prince Narula, who is one of the popular gang leaders, would give Roadies a miss too. Talking to a portal, he spoke about imagining Roadies without Rannvijay was impossible. He said, "I don’t know what to say. This time, Rannvijay and the leaders are not a part of the show. The makers wanted to change the concept of the show and do something different. I can imagine us not being on the show, but I cannot imagine not having Rannvijay onboard, as we have seen him growing and our emotions are attached to him."

6/7

Raftaar

Raftaar, who was seen on Roadies for a short stint, was not supposed to be a part of the reality show this year. However, the rapper said that nobody can deny the legacy that Rannvijay has left behind. In an interview with an entertainment portal, Raftaar opened up about Sonu Sood replacing Rannvijay Singha. He said, "Sonu bhaiyaa will bring a new look and I wish the team the best for the new season. However, one can also not deny the 18 years of legacy Rann bhai has left."

7/7

On the show being revamped

The show is being revamped and therefore new faces will be brought onboard for the show. Talking about the show's revamp, Prince Narula said, "The way he (Rannvijay) hosts the show and handles things, I don’t think anyone can do so. No offense to Sonu Sood as he has done so many things for the country, but when it comes to this show, it’s very different and I hope he maintains it the way we did. The audience doesn’t want to see Bollywood on the show but wants to see normal people who have come out of the show. The audience relates to us. Yuvika said that since we have come out of the same show and are judging it, that’s why people relate to it."
