Rashami Desai to Urvashi Dholakia; times when TV actresses chose to speak up against the trolls and call them out openly

Gone are the days when trolls would hide behind their usernames and act as keyboard warriors. From calling out names to abusing the actors, they always have a field day and seek pleasure at other's expense. Off late, actors have stopped taking this hate and started reporting the accounts of the trolls. Rashami Desai, Shveta Salve and many other TV actors have called out these trolls. Let's take a look: (Photo: Instagram)

Rashami Desai

A few days ago, Rashami received some hateful comments on social media and she was visibly upset. She had then written then, “There should be a limit to troll and make fun of anybody! Maybe you don’t understand or maybe don’t want to know what may affect them in what way..Is this what you’ll want us to see on our feeds..You Don’t like someone Don’t F**KING COME ON THEIR PROFILES. #LiveAndLetLive.” She also wrote: "I still want these trollers to start being a little kind and humble now. I still won’t forget how upsetting it was for me to see so much bad and abusive tweets please be kind you don’t know what may affect someone in what way." (Photo: Instagram)

Urvashi Dholakia

Urvashi Dholakia came across a user, who tried to troll her by using cuss words and called her a "Gold digger" on one of her posts. The actress took a screenshot of that post and shared it on her Instagram story. She asked Instagram to block the user and wrote: "@instagram I think it's time to delete and block this piece of sh*t account! Thanks!" She highlighted the user's comment and below it, Urvashi called out the user by writing: "#fearlesswoman #youcantsuppressme #nofear #f**kyoutoo (sic)" (Photo: Instagram)

Shveta Salve

Shveta Salve started her day with a morning workout routine with her close buddies Aashka Goradia and Brent Goble. But she received some lewd, obnoxious and sexual comments made by a few users on her live workout video. Sharing the screenshots Shveta wrote: "I am done ignoring, blocking, turning my comments off. Why why do we have to do this? There’s not a single woman I know who hasn’t been sexually molested or abused in her life and now we can’t be ourselves, doing our thing (like even yoga) for God’s sakes without the fear of being a sexual target!! It’s 2020… when will the men be held accountable for their actions? When will the women feel secured enough to take action? I encourage you to stand up and do something than waiting for someone to do it!" (Photo: Instagram)

She reported the account to Instagram and asked to block it. (Photo: Instagram)

Aishwarya Sakhuja

Aishwarya Sakhuja received demeaning comments where a user asked her to increase the size of her b****ts. Aishwarya shared a screenshot of the message and the profile on her Twitter account, and wrote, "Why is this ok? Why should I take this lying down? Why should I ignore? It may seem small to some but I refuse to take this nonsense." She also tagged Mumbai Police and wrote, "Aise logo ka kya karein?" Many followers of Aishwarya on reading the post lent their support to her, and encouraged her to report it even to the cyber crime cell. (Photo: Instagram)

Charu Asopa

Charu Asopa shared a photo in which she could be seen sporting a deep neck shimmery jacket with black leggings. While she does look glamorous, a user slammed her by saying, 'Body dikhane ka itne hi saukh h to thora sa kyu pura dikha deti.' This caught Charu's attention, and she gave it back to the female user. 'If I have a good body, I'll flaunt it. Tumhari hai toh tum bhi dikhao," she replied. (Photo: Instagram)

Smriti Khanna

Smriti Khanna had shared photos of her abs after delivering her baby. She was trolled for getting immediately into fitness and heavy exercises. Smriti shared a photo where she showed her middle finger and gave it back to the trolls. In an interview with ETimes TV, Smriti said, "The trolls started getting personal and they told me that I don't care about my baby. They thought I had started working out and dieting. I had to put an entire video clearing that I have not done anything for my transformation. Maybe my body is such that I did not take time to get back to being closer to my previous weight. I haven't started with my workouts, of course I go for walk and eat healthy. I am doing a little bit of yoga which is allowed. It's not like I started working out from the next day of my delivery. Anyways nobody is allowed to go to the gym right now due to the lockdown. I also know for six weeks after delivery you can't workout. Everybody's body type, metabolism is different. My body is such that I lose weight very easily. I gain limited weight during my pregnancy. I was not dieting either. I have realised after a point that you can't do much because haters will hate you." (Photo: Instagram)
