Rashami opts out of TV show, Saumya replaces her

Actress Rashami Desai, who was finalised to play one of the female leads in the upcoming show tentatively titled Door Ke Dhol, has opted out of the show. Reason: Replacement of the male lead opposite her, not once but twice.
Says a source close to the project, which is said to be based on the 90s’ popular show Shrimaan Vs Shrimati, “Nikhil Ratnaparkhi, the original choice for the role, was replaced by Rohitashv Gaur.But the actress felt that he looked too old to play her husband on the show. Finally, Sandeep Anand was roped in for the part. However, the production house called Rohitashv back, which prompted Rashami to pull out of the project.”

With Rashami and Sandeep out of the show, the makers have now roped in Saumya Tandon. She and Rohitashv will play newly-weds on the show. They will be joined by Shilpa Shinde and Aashif Sheikh, who will play the other couple. When contacted, Rashami chose not to comment.
