Remember Ajay Nagrath aka Chintu from Shriman Shrimati; he now plays Nakuul Mehta's best friend in Bade Acche Lagte Hain 2

Remember the child artiste from Shriman Shrimati many years ago? Well, the chubby, cute Ajay Nagrath, whose character on the show was of an adorable and mischievous kid Chintu, is all grown up. In the show, Chintu had a tendency to deliberately and comically jumble up certain words. He did a number of TV shows and even films like Yeh Hai Jalwa. The actor is currently seen in Bade Acche Lagte Hain 2 as Ram Kapoor aka Nakuul Mehta's best friend. The actor recently in an interview to BT, opened up about his break and why he was away from acting post CID. He said, "After CID wrapped up, I was in talks for a couple of projects, but none of them materialised. The pandemic was another blow." (Photo: Instagram)

Ajay, who was doing a lot of work as a child artist in TV and films was not happy with his weight and how it had become his identity in the industry. The actor decided to participate in a reality show, Biggest Loser Jeetega, where participants were paid to lose weight and post that series, things changed for Ajay. (Photo: Instagram)

During his journey of shedding the extra kilos on the reality show, Ajay lost 60 kilos and his weight came down to 82. The actor then went on to do one of the longest running and loved TV shows, CID from 2012-2018. His character added a comic relief to the show. (Photo: Instagram)

Ajay in the interview shared that he met with an accident last year and was on complete bed rest and that's the reason he has again gained weight. He said, "I had lost a lot of weight, around 40 kgs, following a strict diet and fitness regimen. However, unfortunately, I met with a near-fatal car accident last year fracturing three ribs and hurting my kidney. I was hospitalised for more than a week and had to be on complete bed rest for four-five months." (Photo: Instagram)

Ajay added further, "As a result, I gained a lot of weight again. But I have been cleared by my doctors to start working out again. I am looking forward to getting back into shape." (Photo: Instagram)
