Roadies Real Heroes contestant Pooja Sharma's transformation journey after years of sexual abuse is an inspiring one

Pooja Sharma, currently seen on Roadies Real Heroes, is a fighter in real life. Her transformation journey is inspiring, but it's the story behind it that will motivate you to break the shackles and come out strong. Here's one such story that will motivate you. Take a look. Photo: Instagram

Facing sexual abuse for years

In one of her post, Pooja wrote, “Fab is the journey where I discovered about self love. As a kid my life was not easy since along with body shaming just like many others I faced “sexual abuse” for years together as a kid. Right now even whine writing this I am not sure if I should write it. But for long time I blamed myself for many things and always blamed myself for others mistakes as well.” Photo: Instagram

Dealing with emotional stress and coming out strong

"It was a period for such a long time in my life, dealing with emotional and physical abuse as a kid and no one to share. I know many of you who are reading this might have gone through what I am posting and feeling like to die inside since you have no one to share your story and understand. I know things haunt for years together and we often ask questions “why me?” Isn’t it? So lemme tell you whatever happens in life is for a reason. Such incidents made me stronger. I no longer have regrets about things “like why me” instead I feel it happened and “I am glad I know how to deal with it now, I came out of it” Photo: Instagram

Flab to fab

It’s not about a body type. Pooja emphasises on her journey as she says, “If you guys wondering why ‘Flab to fab’. Flabtofab doesn’t mean that I shaped my body certain way and that made me fab. There are so many times I sat in corner and cried, felt like dying. But you know what inside me there was always a voice “why you have to kill yourself because of someone’s mistakes ? Or because someone is bullying you? I am strong enough to deal with these sets of “a**h**es”, I am special to me. And when nobody is there to hear me, I know how to talk to me ana share my story to myself and find solution for me ana that’s my fab journey.” Photo: Instagram

The one who stood through her thick and thin

Pooja wrote about her partner in a post saying, “My life wasn’t like “Happy kids” and I never want to go back to my childhood. I am@happy with my present and lucky enough to have a partner like Gaurabh who understands everything. And when he doesn’t I am happy on my own.” Photo: Instagram

Fit couple and relationship goals

Pooja and her partner Gaurabh have their share of disagreements. She wrote, “If you think we are so perfect and ideal just like movies? Oh naaah never, ideal couple aren’t the movie one. In real life there are lots and lots of ups and downs. It might or might not be right to share this but I don’t care. I wanna be real we are many times on urge of breaking up. And then we realise wake up “chalo get back to life”. We are human we have different opinion and that’s normal and fight are normal. Disagreement is normal. It’s important to respect each other and have a mixture of love and fight. We are Fitcouple not only because of fitness but because fortunately we are able to manage this relationship.” Photo: Instagram

‘My body my choice’

Giving a fitting reply to slut shaming and trolling, Pooja wrote, “Why character is always related to size of cloth? Or Does really covering full body makes a difference? Answer is No! Most of us would have faced issues even after being covered up top to toe isn’t it? Eyes on us like they can see through clothes, which makes us feel like “Kuch dikh rha h kya ?” Looking for a chance every time “SHE” bends areee kya pta kuch dikh ho jaye. Stop being judgemental about me. It’s my body my choice who you are to tell me? If something has to be changed it’s you, your thought about woman. It’s never about the size of clothes it’s about how he or she is been raised up? Reason I am including “She” here is because there are also set of woman who provokes such things. This is not to offend anyone, I totally understand all men aren’t like this but unfortunately number of men who aren’t like this is very small.” Photo: Instagram

Developing self confidence

“To be true, people had to say about my weight. Once I lost ‘they again have to say about my weight’ how ugly I look after losing weight. Once I gained weight then they have to find something new to point out me. Now this new thing was about my “Lips” that how ugly are my lips and this was to that extent that I was about to go for a “lip filler” for my lips. I used to feel low about how they look, which I never felt before until few people said that and I started feeling ugly. And then I got appreciated by few people about my lips n how they look. And this changed my perspective about my lips. And I started loving them again. In this time what I felt that how my opinion about myself changes according to people around. And I felt like fool. How each person’s opinion changed my opinion about myself. This was the time I started learning about ‘how to accept myself the way I am and not getting effected by peoples around’. And believe after this I was ‘Happy about myself n loved each inch of me’ - SELF LOVE.” Photo: Instagram

Being a part of Roadies Real Heroes

Pooja can be seen in Gang Neha. About her entry in the Roadies journey, Pooja shared, “On my way to culling, to be honest I was all excited to show what all I earned during this time. I worked extremely hard for culling because wanted to something which no one ever did before, wanted to blow mind. I work 6-7 hours everyday to perform for culling. For me it was not just about getting into journey but about performing what I worked for. I never believe in comparing myself with anyone. I always consider on being best version of me. If I can do that, that’s my winning situation. If I get anything more than I will be just happy n will work for my next goal. I was also worried about what if I don’t get in, but in the end this life is your journey ups and downs are part of it. Every moment I will learn.” Photo: Instagram

If we're not appreciated by others, it only shows their taste and not about us at all. Why should we seek validation from others, regarding the size of our body or the shape of anything, for that matter!. Real beauty does not lie on good looks alone, but more about your deeds of kindness to anybody, even strangers!.
