Falak Khan on embracing a challenging negative character

Speaking to News18, Falak admitted she had serious doubts before accepting the role. “I was very skeptical to do a negative role. Somewhere, there is always a fear of how people will perceive you, especially on television,” she shared. Despite the hesitation, the response changed everything. “But now, looking back, it turned out so good. I am very overwhelmed and extremely happy to get such a positive response,” Falak added.She explained that negative roles demand emotional depth. “Negative characters are not simple or one-dimensional. You really have to understand their emotions, their pain, their mindset, and the reasons behind their actions.” According to Falak, this role challenged her daily and made her more confident as an actor.

2026 feels like a fresh beginning for Falak

Falak thinks the upcoming year will be a time for personal and professional change. “I genuinely feel the coming year will help me grow in so many ways, not just as an actor but also as a person,” she said.
“Every year teaches you something, but 2026 feels special.”She sees it as a phase of self-discovery. She added, “It feels like a phase where I will understand myself, my work, and my journey much better.” Looking ahead, Falak hopes to take on roles that continue to challenge her creatively and emotionally.

Balancing ambition, mental peace, and gratitude

The actress also spoke about the pressures of television schedules and the need for balance. “Our profession can get very hectic with long hours and constant pressure,” she said before continuing, “Next year, I want to work really hard, but I also want to take care of my mental peace.” Falak expressed deep gratitude for the audience’s response. “Even though my character is negative, people are talking about it, reacting to it, and noticing my performance. That itself is a big achievement for me.”She concluded with hope and clarity, “If by the end of 2026 I can look back and feel proud of my work, that will mean everything to me.”

The show has been penned by Richa Yamini. It stars Parth Samthaan as Mahid and Rishita Kothari as Seher. It also features Mahhi Vijas, Waqr Sheikh, Apoorva Agnihotri, and Falak Khan in key roles. It airs on Colors TV from Monday to Friday at 10 pm. It is also available for streaming on JioHotstar.Meanwhile, Falak Khan is known for her role in the Oscar semi-finalist short film ‘Champaran Mutton’.
