Shivaji Satam on his CID colleague Dinesh Phadnis: I keep remembering the good times and our conversations
Dinesh Phadnis, best known for his role as Fredericks in the popular TV show CID, passed away due to multiple organ failure at a Mumbai hospital on Monday night. Many of his co-actors from CID were present for his last rites, which took place in Borivali.
Veteran actor Shivaji Satam also visited the crematorium. Talking about Dinesh, Satam said, "Our entire team of CID has been very close to each other. We have been there with each other in good times and also in difficult times. Even after the show ended, we stayed connected. Dinesh used to call us during Ganesh Utsav and we would visit his house and enjoy the tasty food made by his wife."
Talking about how they all were like a family on the sets of CID, Satam shared, "On the sets, we used to have fun. Dinesh would make us laugh the most. So it was always good to be around him. I wanted to meet him when he was in hospital in his last days, but I wasn't in Mumbai, so I couldn't visit him at that time. I remember all the time we have spent together and the conversations we have had."
While everyone close to Dinesh is mourning the loss, Satam says they are going to miss him always. "It is a huge loss and CID team will be incomplete without him. But such is life. We have to move on. But he will always remain in our hearts and will be remembered," said Satam.
