Single mom Charu Asopa on quitting Kaisa Hai Yeh Rishta Anjana to take care of baby girl Ziana; says ‘There will be financial issues but need to be present for her’

After almost three years away from daily soaps for maternity leave, Charu Asopa returned to television in June with "Kaisa Hai Yeh Rishta Anjana", believing she could balance her work and care for her daughter, Ziana. However, 10 months later, she has decided to leave the show, realizing that she needs to be more present for her two-year-old daughter. The show's producers are now planning her exit. Taking to her vlog, Charu shared in detail the reason to quit the show and also requested fans not to troll the makers.

It's not easy, guys. It's just not easy. That's the reason why I decided that I will not be able to continue this show. I did this show for 10 months. Ziana needs me the most. Work will keep happening, but this time with Ziana won’t come back. Ziana understands everything and is learning. So I want to be available for her all the time. I want to monitor what she is seeing, what she is learning. So this is why I have decided for my child that I will not continue this show.

I know this show, what I was doing, was for Zianna, because I thought, I have to work as a single mother. I need to work. So the first opportunity I got, I grabbed it and I said, Okay, I'll manage both the things together. But somehow, I did try and it didn’t work out. If I leave the show, there will be some financial issues, but it's okay. We'll work harder. Will work in other places, will do weekend shows.

Daily soaps, it becomes very difficult because you have to do 14 to 15 hours. I would get Ziana to sets at times. But now, I think that I shouldn't keep her in this chaotic environment. I shouldn't keep her in a good atmosphere. A shoot set is not a healthy environment for a small kid. So yeah, after going through a lot of things, I have reached the conclusion that I need to leave the show on a good note, on a very positive note. And I'm doing this for Ziana, but I'm not able to meet her, so what’s the point?

Ever since the news came out that I'm going to leave the show, a lot of people have sent me messages, ‘don't leave’. A lot of people have sent me this message, ‘don't worry, I'll take care of your house, I'll take care of your Ziana, but you keep on working’. So this is what feels good. I feel really good listening to hear about how you guys love me so much.

I will just say that you need to give me this time. I will have to be in this work, and I will have to stay with Ziana. I will do something different, I will do something new. I will make a vlog, I will get a little bit more active on YouTube. But whatever I will do, please support me. As always, I love you.

So yeah, the last few episodes are left, which is when my track wrap-up will be. The makers are deciding how they will end my track. I will finish my track. I'm going to miss you all the people on set because they have become a family.

In fact, I'm going to say that in my 15 years of career, this is a show that is close to my heart, and I am going to miss it all very much. But for me, Ziana comes first. For the first time, I have a production house which is so close to me, where I have so much love. I don't want you to think of them wrongly. You have to end a story or replace it. I'm really thankful to the makers that they're doing this. That's a big thing. But please don't say anything bad to them. They tried to help me in every way. But now, as I said, I can't manage it anymore. It's very difficult for them to finish a character like this.

I am still working with them. It feels bad when someone badmouths them. When my daughter grows old I will tell her that I had the opportunity to work with such good production house. Even when I used to bring her to set and during my scenes, the entire crew would take care of Ziana. They all love her. I felt bad when I got to know all of you are badmouthing the makers.
