‘Splitsvilla 15’ winner Akriti Negi’s boyfriend Anshumat Srivastava breaks silence, defends her from trolls amid breakup rumors

Akriti Negi recently found herself at the centre of online speculation after rumours about her breakup with beau Anshumat Srivastava began doing the rounds on social media. The chatter started when fans noticed that the couple had unfollowed each other and removed some pictures together from their social media accounts. What followed was a wave of trolling directed at Akriti, prompting Anshumat to finally step in and speak up.

Taking to his Instagram Stories, Anshumat shared a strong note calling out trolls for targeting Akriti during an emotionally sensitive time. Without naming anyone directly, he made it clear that he would not stay silent while someone close to him was being dragged online.


He wrote, “Be kind. You never know what someone is quietly fighting. I usually refrain from putting up stories like this but can't be quiet when an individual who means a whole lot to me is being put down for no reason." Anshumat further addressed the culture of online assumptions and trolling, reminding people that social media does not give anyone the right to tear others down.

He added, “Digging up on someone or tearing someone down for clicks doesn't make you strong. It just makes you look stupid. This is a good time for all of you to celebrate and spend time with family. No point assuming things and commenting on people you don't know." Soon after, his statement began circulating widely. Many netizens were backing his stance and urging others to stop speculating about personal lives without facts.

For those unaware, Anshumat had earlier appeared on ‘Rise And Fall’ to support Akriti, who was one of the contestants on the Ashneer Grover-hosted show. Akriti rose to massive popularity after winning ‘Splitsvilla 15’ and has remained in the public eye ever since.

Before her relationship with Anshumat, Akriti was romantically linked to Jaswanth Bopanna. She won ‘Splitsvilla 15’ by defeating Harsh Arora and Rushali Yadav with him.
