Teri Meri Doriyaann actress Himanshi Parashar to play the female lead in Maddam Sir 2?
Speculation has been swirling about the female lead for the second season of Kinnari and Jay Mehtaa’s Maddam Sir –Kuchh Baat Hai Kyunki Jazbaat Hai. While several names have been rumoured, we have now learnt that Himanshi Parashar, last seen in Teri Meri Doriyaann, has been almost finalised to play the female lead in the new season.
A source associated with the show reveals, “After considering various options, we felt Himanshi was the ideal choice for the lead role. Everyone was impressed with her look test and audition. The rest of the casting is in progress, and we plan to start shooting soon. The show is scheduled to launch in November.”
Producer Kinnari Mehta remained unavailable for comment.
The inaugural season of the sitcom featured Gulki Joshi as SHO Haseena Malik, Yukti Kapoor as SI Karishma Singh, Bhavika Sharma as constable Santosh Sharma, and Sonali Pandit Naik as head constable Pushpa Singh. The first season ran for three years and concluded in February of the previous year. There were also rumours that Gulki was approached to take on the lead role in the second season as well. In an exclusive chat with us, Gulki, who has been on a break since the conclusion of Maddam Sir, clarified the speculation stating, “Nobody has approached me, and I am not part of it. I am so attached to the character that if someone asked me whether I wanted to be a part of it, I would say yes. However, thinking logically, I feel I did every thing possible in the first season, and it’s time to explore other facets of my craft.”
After Maddam Sir Season One, Bhavika, who has also been part of shows like Parvarrish -- Season 2, Jiji Maa, and Ye Ishq Nahin Aasaan, moved on to play the new female protagonist in Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin. Yukti Kapoor was seen as the protagonist in Keh Doon Tumhein, a mystery thriller that concluded in November 2023 after completing two months.
