TV celebs who moved out of Mumbai due to traffic, business ventures and a change in lifestyle

While strugglers and aspirants find difficulty in finding a roof in the city of dreams, a few choose a way to leave the Mumbai life and move ahead. Shweta Salve had shifted to Goa years back and Narayani Shashtri shifted a few months ago, take a look at other celebrities who left the city for their own good.

Narayani Shashtri

The Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi actress and her artiste husband Steven Graver (known as Tony) have moved to Goa owning to traffic woes. The duo shifted three months ago. Narayani, who was born and brought up in Mumbai, told BT, “Earlier, we used to live in Andheri, and till the time my shows were shot at Film City, I was able to manage the commute. However, in recent times, many television sets moved to Naigaon and the commute became very long.” Narayani says, “We even moved to Goregaon to reduce the travel time, but it didn’t help. At times, it would take me almost two-three hours to reach the set because of traffic jams. It meant coming home to just sleep. I really needed a change.” She further says, “My husband is a painter and he, too, wanted to move to a place that’s quieter, so that he could work peacefully. Mohena Kumari

The Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, who recently got married in a grand ceremony, is settled with her husband in Dehradun. Mohena had already announced earlier that she will be saying goodbye to her acting career after her wedding. She is currently enjoying her marital life and continuing with her video blogging.

Amit Sarin

Kkusum actor Amit Sarin shifted base to Hollywood with his family — wife Vineesha and two children — in May, 2018. His life changed when Vineesha developed a Hollywood project and happened to meet the legendary actor, Al Pacino, for it. Amit had told in an interview, “My biggest challenge was to break away from the comfort zone here. In June 2018, I got a big offer, and it was heartbreaking to decline it. I keep getting offers, because most people don’t know that I have shifted base. It did take a toll on me, as I couldn’t take up the offers because I was pursuing a bigger dream.”

The Saath Nibhana Saathiya actress had quit acting before tying the knot and settled abroad with husband Rahul.

Somya Seth

The cute and bubbly actress who shot to fame from the show Navya has been away from the small screen since 2016. She was in the US before making a comeback with Chakravartin Ashoka. But soon flew back to the US to tie the knot with filmmaker beau Arun Kapoor in 2017. However, she had a troublesome marriage after giving birth to her son. But she is currently based there with her family.

The actress shot to fame from the popular show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. Mihika was a part of the show for a long time before quitting it. The actress married Anand, NRI businessman in 2016 in a low-key wedding and settled in the USA.

Raqesh Bapat shifted to Pune, his hometown after separation from his wife Ridhi Dogra. However, he keeps visiting Mumbai for work projects and catch up with his industry friends.

The Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actor bid goodbye to the television industry to join family business in Norway. Sangram left his hit show midway to get married and settle down in Norway with his wife Gurkiran Kaur. His wife is a VAT consultant based out of Norway, and had an arrange marriage with Sangram.
