Vishal Dadlani to Neha Kakkar: TV Reality show judges who quit their shows mid way

Judges are the main element of a TV reality show, after the contestants and their personal approach towards the show adds a different spark to it. Reality shows tend to have multiple seasons, and judges for each season are expected to continue until it ends. However, at several instances audiences have witnessed that judges have left the show mid way either due to some controversy or as a consequence to some of their actions on the show. Here's a look at personalities who either quit the show and came back or were replaced by someone else.

Popular Bollywood playback singer Sunidhi Chauhan was the judge of music reality show Indian Idol season 5 and 6 and had quit the show. While speaking with ETimes TV a few months ago, Sunidhi said that she was even asked to praise the contestants. "Not exactly this ki sabko karna hai but yes, we all were told (to praise). That was the basic thing. And so, I couldn't go on. I couldn't do what they wanted and I had to part ways. Hence, today, I am not judging any reality show," she had told ETimes TV.

Rapper Raftaar was another judge of the Roadies fame who quit the show due to his other engagements and commitments. He expressed his gratitude for the support from the viewers and fans and mentioned how he is looking forward to coming back to the show ‘real soon’. He was replaced by Khatron Ke Khiladi 11 contestant Varun Sood, who was also the youngest gang leader on the show.

One of the most talked about exits from a show has been of Navjot Singh Sidhu, since till date Kapil Sharma cracks jokes on Archana Puran Singh being at his place. Sidhu quit the show after his remarks about the Pulwama tragedy sparked outrage.

Neha Dhupia had replaced Esha Deol in the reality TV show Roadies. Esha had dropped out from the show due to some monetary issues. Esha’s mother Bollywood actress Hema Mailini had thanked MTV for choosing Esha as the female judge of the show and mentioned that Esha had a great time doing it.

Currently seen in Bigg Boss 15, Karan Kundra is very much known and popular for his Roadies journey. The actor had to quit the show due to a controversy that was created after he had slapped a contestant on the show during the auditioning round. Karan himself had confirmed that he’d be quitting the show and had thanked everyone for their support. He was replaced by Nikhil Chinnapa.

Neha Kakkar, who hosted the music reality show Indian Idol for a very long time, quit this show soon after her marriage with Rohanpreet Singh. Her sister Sonu Kakkar replaced her. It is believed that Neha Kakkar wanted to spend more time with her husband Rohan and hence decided to quit the show.

One of the most recent and talked about ones, Shilpa Shetty had quit the dance-based reality show Super Dancer. She had been on the judges panel since the very beginning of the show. However, the actress had to quit owing to her husband, Raj Kundra’s arrest for involvement in making illegal adult content. But the actress made a strong comeback, and continued to judge the contestants, and had received a lot of support when she came back to her seat.

Vishal Dadlani is another judge who left Indian Idol for personal reasons. He had quit the show as a judge and is now hosting Sa Re Ga Ma. He revealed that he is ‘expensive as a judge’ and the makers couldn’t afford it. Moreover he also revealed that he stays with his parents and has shifted his location and hence spending time with them and taking care of them is more important. Anu Malik replaced Vishal Dadlani in the show then.
