In the upcoming episode of Wheel of Fortune, the episode will highlight a shocking revelation regarding Akshay Kumar’s acting mentor. Surprisingly enough, Akshay revealed on air that he considers Chunky Panday to be his first acting mentor. Upon hearing the news, everyone broke into a gasp at Akshay’s statement, “Chunky is my teacher.”
Recalling their early training days, Akshay spoke about attending acting classes where senior actors guided newcomers through iconic scenes. “We used to perform Amitabh Bachchan scenes, and Chunky sir was our senior there,” he shared, fondly remembering those formative years of learning and struggle.
From then on, Chunky wasted no time giving himself credit for teaching Akshay how to perform as an actor, dance, as well as teaching Akshay how to act and give people credit for his success as an actor with his comedic nature. “Acting bhi maine sikhayi, dance bhi maine hi sikhaya aur aaj tak guru dakshina bhi nahi mili,” he joked.
Gulshan Grover also chimed in with a humorous comment as well, saying, “I’m so proud of Akshay. He completely forgot everything I taught him and became a great actor.” Overall, this particular moment gives fans an interesting perspective on Akshay Kumar’s
Akshay, who earlier hosted stunt-based show “Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi” (2008-2011) and judged “MasterChef India” (2010), recently told PTI that TV can unite family audiences and he is hoping his new show will foster this connection.
“Over the years, iconic television formats and their hosts haven’t just entertained, they have built trust, brought generations together, and created moments where families sit together, play along and celebrate wins as one. For me, ‘Wheel of Fortune’ feels like coming home to that family audience, the kind that gathers after a long day to unwind together,” he told PTI.
