When Archana Puran Singh opened up about secret marriage with Parmeet Sethi, being 7 years older to him and more

Archana Puran Singh is one of the most popular faces in the entertainment industry. The actress, who has been a part of The Kapil Sharma Show since 2019, is married to Parmeet Sethi. In one of the episodes in 2020, Archana talked about her 'secret marriage' with Parmeet and their life together. There are also tidbits that the couple has shared over the years about their relationship. Take a look at how it all started and how it's going for them.

The two met at a party. Archana mentioned in one of the interviews that she was quite intrigued by Parmeet's 'soft' and 'rude' nature. He pulled the magazine she was reading at the party to show it to someone else but apologised immediately to her for the act. Parmeet shared that he was smitten by her beauty and grace, and also the fact that she was completely honest.

Not many know that Archana's first marriage ended in divorce. It left a bitter taste in her mouth and she was quite fixated on not getting married again until she met Parmeet who changed the notion that 'not all men are violent and possessive'.

Back in the day, Archana and Parmeet started to live-in together and the reports about it did not bother them. What concerned Archana was the disapproval of Parmeet's parents that only changed years later. The actress shared in an interview that his parents were completely against their relationship and marriage.

In one of the episodes on TKSS, Archana revealed that since Parmeet's parents were against their marriage, he decided to marry her secretly. Parmeet went to a priest who asked him if the girl was 'balik' and the actor replied she was more 'balik' than him.

Archana shared in the TKSS episode that she was shooting for Saif Ali Khan's debut film then and got a call from her hairdresser while she was taking pheras. She had not informed anyone on set. The couple hid their marriage from the world for four years.

Archana is older to her husband by seven years. She told BT in 2022, "Before getting married to Parmeet in 1992, we were in a relationship for four years and although we discussed the age gap, we never felt that we should not be with each other because of that. When we finally took the plunge, we realised that we were too much in love with each other to think of the age gap. Though our families had reservations and my family even told me to think twice about getting married to someone younger, I never had any doubt in my mind. And today, after 30 years and two sons, we are still a couple who have faced the ups and downs of life together without the age factor ever coming into focus."
