‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ January 8 written update: Anita reveals the truth, leaves Vani in Abhira’s care

‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ currently stands at a turning point as Abhira finds the truth about Meher’s victim. The episode starts with Abhira rushing to Meher’s victim’s house, Anita, the wife of the driver who was killed in Meher’s case.

She fears that Armaan has been poisoned by her as a way of revenge; however, she later gets to know that the juice he was drinking was not poisoned.

Anita drinks the poison and tells Abhira her story

The woman drinks the poison herself and urges Abhira, who arrived at her home just in time to listen to her story, before it is too late. She reveals that Meher did not kill her husband out of self-defence because he was harassing her. She claims that her husband was murdered because of her. A flashback plays along where Meher and Abhira are competing, and the former loses.

Meher, in a fit of anger, goes to her car after losing the prize and insists that she will drive. Her driver, Anita’s husband, had been instructed by Meher’s father to keep an eye out for her anger and not to let her drive in such situations. As the driver tried to get Meher to sit in the backseat and refused to let her drive, she hit him with a bottle in anger, leading to his untimely death.

Anita was on call with her husband at the time this happened, and reveals that she heard everything herself. The scene shifts back to Abhira, who is left heartbroken. She insists that Armaan must not have made such a big mistake in the case; however, Anita tells her that her husband will suffer the same fate as hers did at Meher’s hands.

Meher tells her father she likes Armaan

At the success party, Meher looks at Armaan and tells her father that she likes him. Her father instead educates her on why he chose Armaan for her case, and tells her to be careful. He tells her that he has done a lot for her to win the case and clear her name, and that he does not want her to jeopardize her future.

Meher then tells her father that Armaan is not like everyone else. She adds that he will not play puppet to their tactics and will not keep on saving her in the future.

Anita leaves Vani in Abhira’s care

As Anita takes her last breath, she makes Abhira promise to take care of her daughter, Vani, as if she were her own. Abhira asks her why she did not come forward with the truth. Anita confesses that if she had raised her voice in court, Meher’s father would have had her and her daughter murdered. Anita makes Abhira promise to fight her case and bring the truth forward as she dies.
