Bigg Boss Malayalam fame Shiju AR announces divorce from wife Preethi, says ‘We have mutually and respectfully chosen to part ways’

Actor and former Bigg Boss Malayalam finalist Shiju AR has announced his divorce from his wife, Preethi. Sharing a note on his social media account, the actor revealed that the couple has respectfully decided to part ways and will continue to hold regard for each other as good friends after 16 years of their marriage.


“This is to formally inform you that Preethi Prem and I are now officially divorced. We have mutually and respectfully chosen to part ways, and we continue to hold regard for each other as good friends. Our decision has been taken with maturity, understanding, and mutual consent. We kindly request the media, friends, and well-wishers to respect our privacy and refrain from speculation. Thank you for your understanding and support as we move forward on our individual paths,” read his post.


Shiju and Preethi were one of the most loved celebrity couples in the industry. Preethi and their daughter received immense love from viewers after their appearance during the family round of Bigg Boss Malayalam 5. Their emotional reunion was one of the most cherished moments of the season.




For the unversed, Preethi and Shiju tied the knot in what was then a sensational wedding. Shiju met his fan-girl Preethi at an airport when she was working as an air hostess. Their interfaith marriage created waves in the industry. The duo initially opted for a registered marriage and later gained acceptance from their families. Notably, they had a Muslim-style wedding at Shiju’s place years after the birth of their daughter, Muskaan.


On the work front, apart from his stint in Telugu cinema, Shiju remains active in Malayalam television. He is currently seen playing one of the lead roles in the show Akale.
