Bigg Boss Malayalam winner Akhil Marar to contest in Rajya Sabha elections 2026, says, 'My voice will rise and be heard'

Director and Bigg Boss Malayalam 5 winner Akhil Marar is set to contest in the Rajya Sabha elections 2026. As per the reports, he will be contesting from the Thrikkakkara constituency as a candidate of Twenty20.


Making the announcement official, Akhil has also penned a note on his social media account.


"The sight of so many people in pain and the helplessness of standing by, unable to do anything for them... When I tried to intervene, the responses were filled with arrogance: 'Who do you think you are?'" Yet, the fulfillment I felt when speaking up for a silenced people was profound. These were the many reasons I chose to enter politics. However, the political circles I worked within did not allow me to provide the support I envisioned for the betterment of our land. Instead, they criticized my actions. For everything I did for the good of the people, I received only mockery and insults in return," he wrote.


Further in the note, Akhil added that it is his destiny to work for the people of Thrikkakkara.


"This land has embraced me. It gave me every fortune. To someone who had nothing and was becoming no one, it gave more than I ever dreamed of. Now, my destiny is to live for this soil and for the people here. From Thrikkakara, my voice will rise and be heard. Stand with me. Bless me," he wrote.




Akhil Marar became a household name with his entry to Bigg Boss Malayalam 5. Thanks to his game plan, he grabbed the winner's title with a record public vote.
