One month of Bigg Boss Malayalam 5: Here is a look at the major events so far

Bigg Boss Malayalam 5 has successfully completed one month of the telecast. From host Mohanlal leaving the show midway to director Fazil appreciating Reneesha for one of her performances, it was indeed an eventful 30 days. Here is a look at the major events so far.

Bigg Boss Malayalam 5 kickstarted by welcoming 18 contestants from different walks of life. Interestingly, the show had its first-ever commoner contestant this season and it was Gopika Gopi, an employee from a private courier service company.

Contestant, Akhil Marar received much flak for his statement disrespecting the late Attappady tribal Madhu. Akhil Marar mocked Sagar, who had stolen food from the kitchen. "Are you Madhu to steal rice from the kitchen? Go and steal something else. He will also face the same consequence as Attappady Madhu," he said in the show.

In the weekend episode, host Mohanlal slammed Akhil for his statement and warned him. On behalf of the whole team and the contestant, the actor-host apologized to Madhu's family and viewers. Later, Akhil made a public apology.

Contestant, Reneesha Rahiman left everyone surprised with her makeover as Shobhana's Nagavalli in the weekly task 'Dance Marathon'. However, the team surprised her with a voice clip from none other than ace director Fazil.

"Happened to see a performance from Mohanlal's Bigg Boss show. Her name is Raneesha Rahiman. What age was she when the movie was released? Anyway, the way she has presented this piece from the movie is an honor for the movie, me, and the whole crew. Thank you," the director said in the voice note.

Reneesha was overwhelmed by the words of the director. The TV actress shared that it was her luck that she got the chance to play the character.

For the first time in the history of the show, the host had left the show midway. In one of the weekend episodes, the dispute between contestants Sagar and Akhil got really fierce and it even irked the host.

"I have asked you to give the hand to Sagar and you have thrown it. I felt it was disrespectful. I happily came here to celebrate Easter with you all. I had planned so many things. Had traveled from Jaisalmer. Traveled 4 to 5 hours from there to the airport, then got a flight and reached here. It has turned out to be an upsetting experience for me. So, I am winding up the show here," the host said and raised his voice to the crew to cut the line.

After the unfortunate incident, the host was seen joining the contestants for a Vishu special celebration. The contestants welcomed him with a Payasam and he gave everyone a special Vishu Kaineetam. Adding more fun to the celebration, the contestants had done some special performances in front of the host.

Wildcard entrant Hanan left the show midway due to health issues. The social media star entered the show as a wildcard but she left the show within a couple of days.

For the first time, the show also had a mid-week eviction this time. Since host Mohanlal had gone on a Japan trip, he hosted the eviction episode early in the fourth week, and contestant Gopika got evicted from the show.

Director Omar Lulu has entered the show as the second wildcard entry. Though his entry was much celebrated by fans, he is yet to make an impression among housemates as well as viewers.

Contestant, Maneesha got a two-week eviction-free card. Following the terrific win in the weekly task 'Manikyakallu', her team presented her with a special privilege card.

Contestant Lachu also left the show midway due to health issues. The model who had severe health issues left the show thanking everyone for the great support.
