Exclusive:"Fans touch my feet and request me to heal them", says Balumamachya Navana Changbhala actor Sumeet Pusavle

Sumeet Pusavle is a Marathi film and television actor who is well known for his performance in the successful TV show ‘Balumamachya Navana Changbhala’. The actor is quite popular among his fans for his historical character Balumama. In a recent interaction with ETimesTV, Sumeet Pusavle talked about his onscreen character Balumama, his preparation for the role and his future projects. Talking about his casting for the role of Balumama, Sumeet said, “First of all, I have visited Admapur where Balumama’s journey started. I have visited the temple of Balumama. I have met so many people there and learned a lot about their personal life. Our director Santosh sir also guided me for my onscreen character. They have given me the tips on Balumama's character, how he used to behave with his devotees, how he used to walk with the attitude and that's how I present my character onscreen" (PC - Instagram)

TV actor Sumeet Pusavle is different from his social media image. Talking about the same, he said, "You have seen me on the social media in jackets and ethnic wear; I have a different personality there. The thing is I have a personal life too. My onscreen character Balumama has Ghongdi and feta. It’s not just a costume; it’s a responsibility for me. People are giving me so much of love on my social media account through their comments and wishes. I feel so blessed now. When we make a biopic, whosoever plays the lead has the responsibility to not get any stain on the character and along with this, we should balance our personal life too.” (PC - Instagram)

The actor shared an incident of one of his fans and said, "Once I went to Pandharpur and a woman came to me and she asked me to give blessings to her child. The child was ill. I have told them to give the child proper treatment and Balumama’s blessings are always with him. I went totally blank in that situation. Earlier, my director had given me the hint that these types of incidents will happen to me soon and that’s what happening with me nowadays.” (PC- Instagram)

Talking about the mental preparation he has done for the devotional character, Sumit said, “Yes. If you would have seen me before then definitely there is a difference now. I have lost 14 kgs for Balumama's character. I have done a lot of research on real-life Balumama. I have gone through his films and books. Balumama's personality is so true and holy so I had to do all the stuff" (PC - Instagram)

To the unaware, Sumit is knowns as a good predictor. Talking about his prediction skills, Sumit said, “No. I can’t tell anyone’s future but yes I am a good predictor. I can tell you about anyone’s personality and nature. I can tell you how the nature of a person is. I wouldn't say I have a superpower like Balumama but yes I have the blessings of Balumama" (PC - Instagram)

Balumamachya Navana Changbhala has completed 500 episodes, talking about it, Sumit said, “I feel so good. I am glad that I am an inevitable part of the series and that is the big thing for me. Sumit Pusavle was totally different on the first day of the shoot and today’s Sumit is different. Today’s Sumit Pusavle has an identity because of Balumama". (PC - Instagram)
