The last few days have been momentous yet controversial for the Marathi television industry. A few actors shocked their fans by slipping into controversies, while a few grabbed the headlines by making big announcements. Here are the newsmakers of Marathi TV.

Bigg Boss Marathi 2 and Hindi show Mujhse Shadi Karoge fame Heena Panchal got arrested at a farmhouse in Igatpuri after Nashik police busted a rave party. Reportedly, 22 persons, including Heena and 11 other women, were also arrested, and several types of drugs were also seized from their possession. Marathi singing reality TV show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa made headlines soon after its launch. The ex-contestants of the show Aarya Ambekar, Rohit Raut, Kartiki Gaikwad, Mugdha Vaishampayan, and Prathamesh Laghate, who were the finalists of Li'l Champs 12 years ago, are now judging the show. It seems like the choice of judges has not gone down well with a section of netizens who slammed the show for its content and 'over-the-top' comments from the judges. The makers are all set to launch the third season after a gap of two years and nonetheless to say fans are excited. Bigg Boss Marathi 3 was scheduled to get launched in 2020, but due to the pandemic and lockdown in the state, the show's makers postponed it to 2021. Marathi art director Raju Sapte allegedly died by suicide at his house in Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune. Raju Sapte built the set of Aggabai Sunbai when the team of the show was shooting outside Maharashtra. The late art director reportedly shot a video of himself before the suicide and accused a few people from the labor union of harassment. The actress gave a befitting reply to trolls saying, "Yes, I have br**ts. It has nipples just like men! Now it is my choice whether to wear an undergarment (bra) at home, outside, on social media. My br***ts and nipples appearing in this video and those who are judging me from it and talking about obscenity, my culture, my intelligence, gossiping, do whatever you like.
