Bigg Boss Telugu OTT: From streaming hiccups to Mumait Khan's probable eviction, highlights of week 1 in BB Non-Stop

Bigg Boss Non-Stop, the OTT version of Bigg Boss Telugu, premiered on February 26. Despite the format, the reality show remains unchanged in terms of drama and entertainment. The digital version had a fair share of fights, emotional outbursts and even streaming hiccups in the first week. Here's a quick recap of the eventful first week.

Breaking the custom of a Sunday launch, Bigg Boss Non-Stop's premiere on Saturday (February 26). Host Nagarjuna launched the OTT season, gave a glimpse of the vibrant BB house, welcomed 17 contestants chosen from TV, film and social media fraternities, and promised a 24x7 non-stop entertainment.

This debut OTT season of the popular reality TV series is all about 'Warriors vs Challengers'. A few former contestants from the previous seasons of the TV series made the 'Warriors' group while some newcomers, who made their BB Telugu debut, were sent in as 'Challengers'. The entire season is going to be an interesting contest between the senior and junior contestants. The first week of the season gave a peek into this dramatic contest.

The first nomination task of the season did not fall short of drama and emotions. Out of 17 contestants, seven inmates including Nataraj, Ariyana, Hamida, Sarayu, Mumait, Mithraw and Chaitu got nominated for eviction in the first week amid some heated arguments and emotional breakdowns.

The nomination task witnessed some heated exchange of words between the contestants especially RJ Chaitu, Nataraj, and Sravanthi. While Chaitu made some major body-shaming allegations against Nataraj, the latter called Sravanthi's nomination a 'pre-planned targeting'. Nataraj and Chaitu had several heated arguments over the body-shaming allegations so much that both had emotional outbursts. Nataraj even fell on his feet asking for an apology.

The housemates made some shocking confessions about their personal lives during a task. While Tejaswi confessed to being a toxic partner in both her relationships in the past, Mumait revealed that she ended a relationship when her partner asked for space. Sravanthi shared that the worst advice she got in life was someone asking her to get her teeth changed. Akhil revealed that his ex-lover told him that he was a good kisser while anchor Shiva confessed that he dated a married woman in the past.

Ashu during her turn shared that she got attracted to two men at a time. On the other hand, Nataraj's confession of daring more than 120 women in life has left everyone shocked.

Mithraw Sharma got emotional talking about her family's bias towards boy child. She added that she has been fighting for acceptance from her family, especially her mother.

Despite a promise to entertain 24x7 'non-stop', the LIVE streaming of Bigg Boss Non-Stop was paused for nearly 24 hrs. Amid growing rumours of a technical glitch, close sources revealed that the lack of enough entertaining content, traction and confusion among fans in following the show's format have prompted the makers to step back a little. The fact that the makers are streaming deferred live from the past three days and one edited episode daily at 9PM instead of two half an hour-long episodes, as promised during the launch, only adds fuel to this argument.

During a weekly task, Mumait had a tiff with Chaitu as he mentioned her as the face he doesn't want to see every morning. This left Mumait offended as she thought it was because of her request for cigarettes. Chaitu further explained to a few other inmates that Mumait cries asking Bigg Boss for cigarettes every morning and he doesn't like it. Chaitu's reason didn't go well with Mumait. She accused him of being 'judgemental' and broke into tears claiming that he is trying to give a 'wrong portrayal' of her. In the recent episode, Chaitu was seen talking it out with Mumait, clarified his intent and further apologised to her as well.

While six contestants became the captaincy contenders after succeeding in a series of challenges, Tejaswi Madivada managed to become the captain of the house in the first week. She is now the first captain of the season. Tejaswi of BB Telugu season 2 fame was also one of the first captaincy contenders of the season.

Nataraj was nominated as the 'worst contestant of the week' by the six captaincy contenders as per the instructions of Bigg Boss. He was further put in a compact jail inside the Bigg Boss house unlike the previous seasons where an isolated place in the garden area was dedicated to the jail.

As per the latest reports, Mumait Khan is most likely to get evicted from the BB house. Mumait is a part of Team Warriors which consists of former BB contestants. She was a part of Bigg Boss Telugu season 1 in the past. Mumait failed to stand out in the tasks besides bonding over with her inmates and her share of fights especially with Chaitu. In a recent poll on Instagram by ETimes TV, over 54% of the respondents thought Mumait should be eliminated from the show.
