Now, he has adopted the healthy way of six-pack meal routine, which has been popular in the West.”

“A six-meal-a-day plan helps one to manage hunger and maintain energy levels. Mohit Raina wakes up at 5.45 am and starts his day with a glass of warm water. "Then, I work out for at least an hour. I pay attention to my meals. I consume 3gm protein per kilo of my weight and maintain a 60:40 protein-carbs ratio in my diet. Since I play the role of Mahadev, I’m constantly bare-chested. I need to stay fit round the year. Fitness is more important to me than six-pack abs."

Eijaz Khan says that one cannot achieve six-pack abs by just focussing on them. "Overall fitness is a must. So if you work out regularly on your muscle groups – your abdominal muscles being one of them – they will get defined. But they can only be showcased if the fat on the muscles is reduced. So what worked for me is a low-carbs, high-protein diet, with a proper high intensity interval training program. I listen to my body and have loads of fun doing so! I have just started Parkour and it has improved my agility and presence of mind. I feel like a burglar on the prowl."

Mrunal Jain loves going topless. He's shed his shirt more than eight times in "Uttaran", and once, wore only a towel in "Hitler Didi". "Fitness is about being able to do all those things you enjoy the most. It could be dancing, cycling, swimming or just about anything that gets you excited. Besides, if you feel demotivated at times, just lower your expectations from your workout session. You could, for instance, cut the distance, sets or reps by half, but raise your intensity. So if you have to cut short your exercise to accommodate other important things, you need not feel guilty about it."

Terrence Lewis' six-pack abs were a conscious effort to reach an athletic level of fitness for "Nach Baliye." "I followed a strict regimen. I ran 5km three days a week for 40 minutes on an empty stomach, followed by an intensive session of abdominal crunches for 20 minutes. I did one hour of intense weight training the other three days of the week. Since weight training affects flexibility, I had to do an extra one hour of ballistic stretching to release the tension in the muscles. But watching what and how I eat made most of the difference! I reduced carbs to a bare minimum and tried not to eat post 7pm."
