French left-wing leader Jean-Luc Melenchon made an explosive remarks on Iran and France’s military posture in the Middle East. Speaking during a political address, Melenchon questioned Western involvement near the Strait of Hormuz and warned that France could be dragged into a wider regional conflict. He argued that Iran was “defending itself” after coming under attack and criticized what he called selective foreign policy standards.
