‘It Was A Russian Drone’: Ukraine Doubles Down On Romania’s Geran-2 Claims, Rejects Shootdown Theory

Ukraine’s U.N. envoy Andriy Melnyk rejected any suggestion Kyiv was linked to the drone that crashed into a building in Romania’s Galati, insisting it was a Russian drone. At the U.N., Melnyk dismissed Moscow’s denials and backed Romanian findings identifying the UAV as a Russian-made Geran-2. But confusion deepened after Romanian President Nicusor Dan suggested the drone may have veered off course after being struck by Ukrainian air defence.
