Venezuelan Defence Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez warned on Sunday that Venezuela was preparing to fight if the United States dares to “set foot” on Venezuelan territory. “I say to the imperialists of the north (that) we are preparing ourselves and we are going to fight; we will fight if you dare to set foot in Venezuela,” he said. The announcement on state television VTV comes as tensions with the U.S. simmer over the deployment of three warships to the region.
