US Elections 2020: Voting Process Explained

The elections for the US president is technically a vote for the representative of that candidate’s party. Voters may have a particular presidential candidate in mind but their vote is cast in favour of a representative of that party. These representatives are known as electors. There are a total of 538 electors also known as the electoral college. Each elector represents one electoral vote. The presidential candidate needs to win a majority of 270 votes or more to win.
