Amid rising tensions in the Gulf region, Indian oil and LPG tankers are navigating one of the world’s most sensitive shipping routes. The Shipping Ministry has confirmed that the LPG carrier Shivalik has safely crossed the Strait of Hormuz and is approaching Mumbai. Authorities have arranged priority berthing at the port to ensure quick unloading of cargo. Officials also confirmed that all Indian seafarers in the region are safe and that the government remains in constant contact with vessels operating in the Persian Gulf. Another ship, Nanda Devi, will soon arrive at Kandla port, while Jag Laadki is en route to Mundra carrying nearly 81,000 tonnes of Murban crude oil from the UAE. The movement of these ships comes at a time when global energy markets are on edge due to geopolitical tensions. India is closely monitoring the situation to secure its vital energy supply chain.
