US President Donald Trump claimed the American military carried out one of the most powerful bombing raids in the region, targeting military facilities on Kharg Island — the heart of Iran’s oil network. Trump said all military targets were “totally obliterated,” but added that oil infrastructure was deliberately spared. The U.S. also warned that any disruption to shipping through the strategic Strait of Hormuz could trigger direct strikes on Iran’s oil facilities. The development marks a major escalation in the ongoing conflict involving the U.S., Israel and Iran.
