Textile manufacturers suffer major setback amid ongoing geopolitical conflicts in Tamil Nadu

Textile manufacturers of Tirupur and Coimbatore have halted production for 20 days from today due to the severe impact on textile sale due to the ongoing geopolitical conflicts. With 2 lakh power-looms and 30 thousand auto-looms in the region, the production of 1 crore meters of fabric has been paused. The daily sales from the industry in the region were more than 75 crore Rupees. About 1500 crore rupees trade has been affected so far and about 5 lakh laborers engaged in the power loom sector alone are likely to lose jobs.
