Viral Marriage Proposal By Army Captain Draws Scrutiny Over Military Protocol

An Indian Army Captain who proposed to his girlfriend after a passing-out parade at the Combat Army Aviation Training School (CAATS) in Nashik has come under scrutiny after a video of the moment went viral. Defence sources said the Army has sought an explanation from the officer, citing concerns over the use of a military helicopter and an official military occasion for a personal event. While officials stressed that the Army understands the sentiment behind the proposal, they described the timing and location as inappropriate. Sources indicated that no major disciplinary action is likely, but the officer is expected to be counselled on military regulations, conduct and the responsibilities associated with wearing the uniform. The incident has sparked a wider debate on the intersection of social media culture, personal expression and military discipline.
