Fighting in Ukraine intensified as Russia claimed its forces captured the settlement of Ilyinovka in the embattled Donetsk region. According to the Russian defence ministry, Russian forces have also taken control of the village of Zemlyanki in the Kharkiv region—opening what could be a broader and more volatile axis of confrontation. There has been no sign of peace with the Russian military continuing its aerial attacks on Ukraine. The Russian forces on Monday launched a massive overnight attack on residential neighbourhoods and civilian infrastructure in the southern port city of Odesa, the regional head said. Ten people, including two children, sought medical treatment following the strikes, regional head Serhii Lysak said.
