Powerful half-centuries by Marcus Stoinis, Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni’s quickfire 30 guided Lucknow Super Giants to one-wicket win in last ball thriller against Royal Challengers Bangalore in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match here at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday.
For LSG, Stoinis slammed 65 off 30, while Pooran played a blistering knock of 62 in 19 balls. For RCB, Wayne Parnell and Mohammed Siraj bagged three-wicket respectively while Harshal Patel claimed two.

In the last over, Patel delivered a full-toss ball to bowled out Mark Wood for one. On the 5th ball of the last over Patel dismissed Jaydev Unadkat for 9. Patel went through his stride and then saw non-striker Ravi Bishnoi was out of his crease, tried to run out but missed it. Threw it back but the umpire said that was not allowed.

With the scores level and a super over beckoning, number 11 Avesh Khan swung his bat with full force and took one run to scamper a bye and then threw his helmet wildly in celebration.

Khan’s act, especially after having poor bowling figures, didn’t go down well with fans, as they brutally trolled him via memes.
