Pakistani social media influencer heavily criticised for using Lion as a party prop

Videos of Pakistani influencer Susan Khan birthday went viral. In the video, she was seen using Lion as a party prop for her birthday party.Susan Khan who hosted the party in Lahore caused outrage in people especially after the video from the @projectsaveanimals account went viral. The clip showed the lion was seen shackled with an iron chain. “While I am not against birthdays and how people choose to celebrate them, I am severely against people using animals as props,” reads the caption from the post. “How would you feel if someone sedated you, tied you up and thrust you in an environment with loud music and screaming people?”The second video shared by the animal advocacy group showed Susan Khan petting the Lion. “More evidence that it was was @susankhanofficial who exploited this lion to such abuse,” wrote the animal advocacy group. “It’s honestly horrendous seeing as to how these influencers seem to not care about the animals. Not a single remorse.” It added.The page started an online petition against using wildlife animals as a prop.VICE World News reported Usama Wains, who runs a registered business of exotic and wild animals in Pakistan, saying it’s illegal to rent out animals for private events, but some people do it anyway. “You will not find any legitimate renting agency. They’re all underground and very discreet,” he said.
