Tweet on potholes in Britain goes viral, pictures of damaged roads from around the globe bombards twitter
A twitter user with the name No Context Brits posted a tweet highlighting the numerous potholes in the damaged roads of Britain. This tweet has now become a viral thread and people from all over the world have started tweeting about the potholes in their country.
The caption of the post says, “Only in Britain would a road look like this.”
This tweet has gone viral and has received 91,700 likes, 28,600 retweets and over 5500 comments. People have exploded the pictures of roads with potholes on twitter form different countries showcasing that Britain isn’t the only country that is facing the problem of potholes. This, indeed has resulted into the formation of a viral thread and is trending on social media.
People started posting pictures of potholes and damaged road from cities across the world.

Faizan Lakhani, a Journalist from Karachi has tweeted pictures of damaged roads and potholes in Karachi.
Meanwhile, a renowned Pakistani newspaper - The Express tribune in a 2019 report said “Negligence and lack of infrastructure planning over the years has caused detrimental damage to the citizens, thereby exposing them to hazardous potholes. Potholes are more than just ugly, they can also be dangerous, causing damage to vehicles and potential trip and fall accidents for pedestrians.”
Vadra Sebastian, a resident of Argentina too has posted a picture of cake alongside the picture of a pothole showcasing that the pothole has been there for three years.
In a report by New York Post, an Argentinian cyclist was reportedly hospitalized after taking a spill and landing right into a large cactus. “I didn’t see a small crater in the asphalt and I hit the pothole,” recalled Moreno, who was riding with two others cyclists at the time.
Michael Bucwa a resident of Pretoria, South Africa has tweeted a picture of a black car drowning in a pothole filled with water.
“Driving through some of South Africa’s rural towns, with broken pavements and stuttering infrastructure increasingly the norm, you’d sometimes be forgiven for wondering if you’d arrived in warzone Kinshasa,” mentions weekly newspaper Daily Maverick 168.
Similarly, Lola Okunrin, a Nigerian realtor tweeted a picture of heavily damaged road of a place known as Akute in Nigeria.
Regarding the bad infrastructure, a report from Sahara reporters mentions “Over the years, citizens have been subjected to gruesome experiences plying these roads: many have lost loved ones, valuables among other things to accidents that regularly occurs due to the decaying state of the roads.”
Dillan Dsouza an Indian too had posted a picture of a damaged road with a truck stuck in a pothole.
Potholes are a common disturbance that indeed cause billions of dollars in vehicle damages and an enormous segment of highway deaths.
