Dot, Vedang Raina, Mihir Ahuja, Yuvraj Menda: All you need to know about the new cast members of Zoya Akhtar’s ‘The Archies’

Back in March, when ETimes exclusively revealed the first looks of Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor and Agastya Nanda from their debut project ‘The Archies’, the expectations and the hype around the Zoya Akhtar directorial increased even more. A few days ago, the makers revealed the official looks of the trio and the rest of the cast joining them. Here’s all you need to know about these fresh faces and the characters they’d be portraying in the film.

Dot, who goes by the Instagram handle @/dotandthesyllables is the daughter of the late Indian rock musician Amit Saigal. He was a rock musician, promoter, publisher, and impresario from India. Dot, also known as Aditi Dot, is a young musician and composer who rose to fame after releasing the song Khamotion in 2021. She became a household name in the techno music genre with her track titled 'Everybody Dances to Techno’. She might portray the character of Midge Klump, Moose Mason's longtime girlfriend, and Reggie's unrequited crush.

Agastya Nanda will be playing the lead character, Archie, a small-town teenager who enjoys playing guitar. He is the son of Shweta Bachchan Nanda, (Amitabh Bachchan's daughter) and Nikhil Nanda (great grandson of Raj Kapoor and Krishna Kapoor). Agastya who graduated from London's Seven Oaks School in November 2000, had previously done a short video with a handful of his pals, which he directed and also created the music for it. He is all set to make his official acting debut with Zoya Akhtar’s ‘The Archies’.

Daughter of Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, Suhana Khan too will be making her acting debut with Zoya Akhtar’s film. She will be essaying the character of Veronica — the most popular girl in high school, best friend of Betty Cooper and is in love with Archie Andrews. Speaking of Suhana, the young star kid received her secondary schooling at Mumbai's Dhirubhai Ambani International School and then relocated to London and New York to complete her higher education. Back in her college days, she also starred in a short film titled ‘The Grey Part of Blue’. Back in school, she was also a sports fanatic who helped her school win several football games and also led the U-14 squad.

Janhvi Kapoor’s younger sister Khushi Kapoor will be seen stepping into the shoes of Betty Cooper - a charming girl next door, who is also in love with Archie. Before entering the film world, Khushi studied at the New York Film Academy. Her parents Boney Kapoor and late mother Sridevi Kapoor have been extremely supportive of her aspirations, and the star kid is making sure to create a good mark of herself in the showbiz. The young diva is already a youth sensation, and enjoys a massive fan following on Instagram.

The young and charming Mihir Ahuja will most likely appear as Jughead —a bit of an outcast, known for his sarcastic sense of humour, also Archie’s best friend. Mihir has been around the showbiz for quite some years now. He is known for his performances in 'Super 30', 'Dolly Aur Kitty Ke Chamakte Sitare', 'Feels Like Ishq', 'Bard Of Blood' and 'State of Siege'. Born in Jamshedpur, Mihir is also a beatboxer, dancer, and voice over artist.

Yuvraj Menda who’d be essaying the role of Dilton Doiley — nerdy teen, loved by Archie and the gang, is a well known fashion influencer and also one of the lead stars of 'The Archie'. The actor who has over 9.6K followers on Instagram recently released a video of himself dancing to Beyonce's 'Freakum Dress' with Instagram star Taneesho.

Reggie Mantle, the attractive teenage boy and an athlete, will be played by Vedang Raina, who will be making his acting debut with this project. Born and raised in Mumbai, Vedang is known for his vocal abilities. He has released videos of himself performing 'Khalid's Talk' and 'The Weeknd's Earned It'. He completed his schooling at Jamnabai Narsee School and completed his further studies at NMIMS, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management and Studies.
