Imran Khan Arrest live updates: Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan's arrest on Tuesday set off skirmishes between his supporters and police in several cities that left at least six people dead, and his continued detention raised the prospect of more unrest. PTI leader Hammad Azhar said that Imran’s arrest was “not acceptable” and asserted that the PTI chief “is our red line”. He called on the nation to take to the streets against Imran’s arrest.

PTI secretary general Asad Umar has tweeted that a six-member committee, headed by PTI vice-chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi, would determine the next course of action.
“Pakistan’s biggest political leader has been arrested,” Umar said. “The whole world is being shown that there is no law in the country.”

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that Imran had failed to appear before the court despite being issued several notices.
“The arrest has been conducted by the National Accountability Bureau for causing losses to the national treasury,” he said.

Khan, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was taken into custody by the Rangers when he appeared in court on anti-graft charges, his PTI lawyer Faisal Chaudhry said.
