KATHMANDU: Nepal''s dismissed PM Sher Bahadur Deuba on Sunday thanked India and the international community for supporting political parties in their struggle to re-establish democracy in the Himalayan Kingdom.
Appearing before the media for the first time in nearly a month-and-a-half, Deuba said, "I am happy that India has supported the call for democracy in Nepal.
I am thankful that the international community has stood for democracy and human rights."
His appearance came just a day after he had been released from house arrest. Nineteen other politicians were also released. They were all arrested on February 1 soon after King Gyanendra seized complete power in a royal coup.
