Janitors, ice cream sales analyst: Texas whistleblower reveals 'craziest H-1B job titles'
Texas journalist and whistleblower Sara Gonzales, in her latest YouTube video, revealed a list of H-1B job titles that she found 'crazy' and said that it is not only Indian software engineers 'exploiting' the H-1B visa program, but there are also others. Gonzales started her own investigation into the H-1B employers as she visited some of the hirers and found empty offices and home addresses.
As Gonzales continues her investigation, she has now come up with a list of job titles that, according to her, should not require a foreign national with any special skills. Gonzales said the list busts the narrative that companies are forced to bring in foreign nationals for these roles. "Why the hell do we need to hire janitors from a foreign country?" Gonzales said, citing the record of a Massachusetts cleaning service hiring janitors for a salary of $31,200. "They can't find anyone in the country who knows a thing about cleaning toilets," Gonzales said.
The list that the whistleblower presented included a retail associate, a dry cleaning worker, public relations specialist, travel agent, an HR manager for a Mexican restaurant, an HR manager for a smokeshop in Texas and an ice cream sales analyst in Chicago. Gonzales mocked that in an obese America, they could not find anyone for ice cream sales analyst.
The YouTuber also cited a record of a California business called 'Sing in Chinese' hiring foreigners on H-1B for the position of English teacher. "Yes, they could not find an English teacher in America," Gonzales added.
The H-1B visa program allows companies to hire foreigners for specialty occupations with skills that are not present in Americans. Silicon Valley companies are highly dependent of this visa program as they hire engineers from India and China but Gonzales revealed how small cleaning services companies are also hiring foreigners and are contributing to building an eco system that needs to hire foreigner English teachers for the non-English speaking immigrant workers.
The visa program has now come under immense scrutiny as MAGA called for an abolition of this program, as they are stealing jobs from Americans. The administration imposed a $100,000 fee each foreign national a company hires on H-1B, and the lottery system has also been overhauled.
