Sri Lanka were left reeling after slumping to 154/5 in reply to India's first innings total of 600 all-out at stumps on the second day of the first Test in Galle on Thursday. At the close of play, Angelo Mathews was batting on 54 along with Dilruwan Perera on 6* with Stri Lanka trailing India by 446 runs.

India made a resounding start to their tour of Sri Lanka with Shikhar Dhawan and Cheteshwar Pujara hitting centuries to help their side post 399/3 on Day 1 of the first Test in Galle on Wednesday. Dhawan fell short of a deserving double-ton by 10 runs while Pujara remained unconquered on 144 at the close of play. This is the second highest total that India have posted in a single day of a Test in their history.
