How to use crystals to uplift your space in 2026
Uplifting a space today has moved beyond décor to more meaningful, emotional aspects. Offices and homes are now increasingly seen as pivotal parts of a person’s emotional ecosystem, with more people turning to crystals to guide the energy of their spaces.
“People no longer use crystals purely for aesthetic purposes,” says Heena, astrologer at Astrotalk. “They are now choosing the types of crystals they want to incorporate based on how they want those crystals to support them, emotionally and mentally.”
A significant indication of this shift is the way crystals are being placed within homes. For example, black tourmaline is placed right near the main door to act as a grounding stone that absorbs and augments the energy from outside of the home. Heena states that most people overlook their entrance; however, their entrance is the first energy their body interacts with when entering the home, and this interaction occurs prior to any other part of the home. “The energy from the outside world enters your body as soon as you walk through your front door. Therefore, by incorporating grounding stones into your entrance, you can establish a basic foundation of energy that provides you with a sense of stability or security," she adds.
It's no surprise that remote and hybrid work styles have been adopted into our routines over the last few years, and now more than ever, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to stay focused on work and avoid distractions. One of the many crystals believed to help improve mental clarity and maintain concentration is clear quartz. “The greatest energy loss will be attributed to distraction in 2026,” Heena states, adding, “Clear quartz is the most frequently used crystal when supporting oneself to become clearer, especially if one experiences a lack of clarity or is feeling overwhelmed by long working days.”
Placing amethyst crystals on the nightstand or bed continues to be a popular choice for providing calm energy and restoring energy. Many are even pairing amethyst with rose quartz, which can be placed on or near the bed or worn daily as jewellery. “This combination will support physical rest as well as emotional wellness. You’re not just shutting down your body when you go to sleep; emotional support is essential for getting quality rest, and rose quartz is associated with peace, harmony, and comfort,” Heena explains.
Citrine has often been called the stone of confidence or stone of abundance, and is frequently placed on office desks, in cash drawers, and in the southeastern area of a room. While Citrine is generally associated with wealth, Heena points out that it also has a psychological function: “Citrine is not only about wealth; it is about developing a mindset around optimism and self-belief, bringing clarity to decisions made and subsequently how each individual approaches his/her finances.”
One of the major differences in 2026 is that rather than cramming shelves full of crystals, people are placing fewer crystals in meaningful ways. Each crystal is chosen with a clear intention and allowed to blend into the environment as opposed to overpowering it. Heena states, “One thoughtfully placed crystal that aligns with your intention is much more effective than many forgotten crystals.”
In addition to crystals, other forms of energy being revitalized in 2026 include traditional symbols associated with vastu principles or other cultural belief systems, albeit with a touch of modernity. A 7-horse frame on the east side of the wall, depicting the horses running forward, has long been a symbol of progress, growth, and momentum. According to Heena, these symbols often resonate with people during times of transition. She says, “The symbolism of direction and movement is an incredibly powerful thing and creates a mindset of being in a state of progress, which is something most people are focusing on consciously this year.”
Uplifting a space is no longer about blind belief or trends. Ultimately, the goal remains creating environments that quietly support the life being lived within them.
