GST 2.0 savings: Price cuts across all major brands - Creta, Thar, Nexon, Fortuner, Kiger & more
The GST 2.0 rollout has triggered sweeping price reductions across the Indian auto sector, with carmakers passing on the benefits directly to buyers. From entry-level hatchbacks to luxury SUVs, customers can now save anywhere between Rs 65,000 and Rs 8.9 lakh depending on the model.
Mahindra has slashed prices by up to Rs 1.56 lakh. The Bolero Neo is cheaper by Rs 1.27 lakh, while the XUV 3XO has seen reductions of Rs 1.40 lakh (petrol) and Rs 1.56 lakh (diesel). The Thar range is now lower by up to Rs 1.35 lakh, and the Thar Roxx gets a Rs 1.33 lakh cut. The Scorpio Classic is cheaper by Rs 1.01 lakh, the Scorpio N by Rs 1.45 lakh, and the XUV700 by Rs 1.43 lakh.
Tata Motors has announced cuts of up to Rs 1.45 lakh. The Tiago is down by Rs 75,000, the Tigor by Rs 80,000, and the Altroz by Rs 1.10 lakh. SUVs such as the Punch and Nexon are now cheaper by Rs 85,000 and Rs 1.55 lakh, respectively. The Harrier has seen a reduction of Rs 1.4 lakh, while the Safari is down by Rs 1.45 lakh. The Curvv is now Rs 65,000 more affordable.
Toyota has revised prices by up to Rs 3.49 lakh. The Fortuner sees the steepest drop of Rs 3.49 lakh, followed by the Legender at Rs 3.34 lakh. The Hilux is cheaper by Rs 2.52 lakh, the Vellfire by Rs 2.78 lakh and the Camry by Rs 1.01 lakh. The Innova Crysta and Innova Hycross are down by Rs 1.80 lakh and Rs 1.15 lakh, respectively. Other models get cuts of up to Rs 1.11 lakh.
Skoda has front-loaded GST benefits and combined them with festive offers. The Kodiaq gets GST-linked savings of up to Rs 3.3 lakh and festive benefits worth Rs 2.5 lakh, taking the total up to Rs 5.8 lakh. The Kushaq is cheaper by Rs 66,000 plus additional offers of Rs 2.5 lakh, while the Slavia gets Rs 63,000 in GST benefits and Rs 1.2 lakh in festive discounts, totalling Rs 1.8 lakh.
Renault has confirmed reductions of up to Rs 96,395, with the Kiger seeing the highest benefit. The new prices come into effect from September 22, though bookings at revised rates have already opened.
BMW has cut prices by up to Rs 8.9 lakh. The 2 Series Gran Coupe is now priced at Rs 45.3 lakh, the 3 Series LWB at Rs 60.5 lakh, and the 5 Series LWB at Rs 72.4 lakh. SUVs such as the X1 (Rs 50.6 lakh), X5 (Rs 93.7 lakh, down from Rs 1.003 crore) and the flagship X7 (Rs 1.2 crore, down from Rs 1.3 crore) have also become more affordable.
Mercedes-Benz has also revised prices under the new 40 percent GST for luxury cars, with reductions ranging from Rs 2.6 lakh to Rs 11 lakh across its lineup. The flagship S-Class S 450 4MATIC is now Rs 1.88 crore, cheaper by Rs 11 lakh, while the GLS 450d AMG Line sees a cut of Rs 10 lakh, bringing it down to Rs 1.34 crore. The GLE 450 4MATIC is reduced by Rs 8 lakh to Rs 1.07 crore, and the E-Class LWB 450 4MATIC drops by Rs 6 lakh to Rs 91 lakh. Among SUVs, the GLC 300 4MATIC is now Rs 73.95 lakh (Rs 5.3 lakh lower), while the GLA 220d 4MATIC AMG Line falls by Rs 3.8 lakh to Rs 52.70 lakh. The C 300 AMG Line is priced at Rs 64.30 lakh after a Rs 3.7 lakh cut, and the entry A 200d becomes Rs 45.95 lakh, down by Rs 2.6 lakh. All new prices will be effective PAN India from September 22.
Hyundai is offering reductions of up to Rs 2.4 lakh. The Grand i10 Nios is cheaper by up to Rs 73,808, the Aura by Rs 78,465 and the Exter by Rs 89,209. The i20 sees a cut of up to Rs 98,053, while the sportier i20 N-Line drops by Rs 1.08 lakh. The Venue now costs up to Rs 1.23 lakh less (Rs 1.19 lakh for N-Line). The Verna gets a cut of Rs 60,640. The Creta is cheaper by Rs 72,145, while the Creta N-Line is down by Rs 71,762. The Alcazar gets a reduction of Rs 75,376, and the Tucson tops the list with a cut of Rs 2.4 lakh.
