Honda City facelift 2023 launch highlights: Price, features, availability and more
Honda Cars India is all set to introduce a mid-life facelift for the City in the Indian market today. The sedan will come with some visual enhancements, additional features including ADAS tech, as well as RDE norms and E20 fuel compliance. The 2023 City will continue to rival the likes of Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz in India.

The Honda City 1.5-litre petrol engine has a claimed mileage of 17.8 kmpl for the 6MT version and 18.4 kmpl for CVT. In addition, the Honda City e:HEV hybrid has a claimed fuel efficiency figure of 27.13 kmpl.

Honda City 2023 India pricing: Compared to pre-facelift
While the entry price of the sedan has come down with the introduction of the SV trim, the top-end ZX hybrid (e:HEV) variant now costs Rs 20.39 lakh (ex-showroom), which means that the top-end hybrid variant is Rs 50,000 more expensive than before.

The Honda Sensing ADAS tech has now trickled down to the standard Honda City petrol variants as well. These include Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Adaptive Cruise Control with Low Speed Follow, Road Departure Mitigation System, Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), Lead Car Departure Notification System (New) and Auto High-Beam.

Honda City 2023 facelift India launch: No diesel
The upcoming Honda City facelift will likely be a petrol-only offering, with the carmaker ditching the 1.5-litre diesel engine. The 1.5-litre NA petrol engine (121 PS/145 Nm) will be upgraded to comply with the RDE norms, while it could also be made E20 fuel compliant. The 1.5-litre strong-hybrid petrol engine on the City Hybrid is also expected to be introduced on some lower variants to make it more accessible.

Honda will also offer the new City facelift with some Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, collision mitigation braking, road departure mitigation, and auto high beam. These Honda Sensing suite of ADAS features are already offered with the Honda City e:HEV (hybrid), and will now trickle down to the standard version of the sedan.
