Honda City facelift incoming: Launch date, what’s new & details
Honda Cars India is preparing to launch an updated version of its popular sedan, the Honda City, with the facelift set to launch on May 22. With this update, Honda will be looking to strengthen the City’s position in a competitive segment, where it faces rivals like the Volkswagen Virtus and Hyundai Verna.
This will be the second update for the current-generation model and is expected to bring a mix of subtle design tweaks and feature additions.
On the outside, the changes are likely to be evolutionary rather than drastic. You can expect minor revisions to the headlamps and tail-lamps, along with redesigned bumpers and a fresh set of alloy wheels. The overall silhouette of the sedan is expected to remain unchanged.
Inside the cabin is where most of the updates are likely to come in. The facelifted model could get a larger touchscreen infotainment system along with a fully digital instrument cluster. Features like a powered driver’s seat and ventilated front seats are also expected to be added/ There could also be a 360-degree camera and updated ADAS features, along with new upholstery to freshen up the interior.
Under the hood, the City is expected to remain unchanged. It will continue with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 119 bhp and 145 Nm, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT. The strong hybrid version will also continue, offering a combined output of 124 bhp with an e-CVT setup.
