Over 3K flood-hit still in Tripura relief camps

Agartala: Three weeks after the worst floods in decades in Tripura, about 3873 affected people continue to take shelter in 67 relief camps across four worst-hit districts.After reviewing the flood situation on Thursday, CM Manik Saha directed officials to ensure proper food, healthcare facilities and hygiene in the relief camps besides payment of ex gratia to families which lost their near and dear ones.The death toll has now risen to 36 and one person is still reported to be missing. Out of the deaths, 22 are due to landslides, 13 are due to drowning and one due to house collapse and the causality included 23 males, seven females and six children.“The CM also asked the officials to finalise the memorandum for final damage assessment within this week and send the same to MHA and to devise a medium and long-term action plan for restoration work,” said secretary (revenue) Brijesh Pandey.

Fresh rain alert for many districts in Telangana, people moved to relief camps

Due to heavy rains causing rising water levels in Munneru, the government is relocating residents to relief camps in Khammam town. The Gujarat government has rolled out a relief package for businesses hit by last month's floods in Vadodara. The aid targets micro, small, and medium enterprises along with voluntary organizations. Financial support ranges from Rs 5,000 to Rs 85,000 based on business size. Soft loans with subsidized interest are also available for larger shops.

After floods, govt gears up for enumeration to extend massive relief: Sisodia

In response to devastating floods in Vijayawada, the state government is conducting a detailed enumeration of losses to offer relief. With the heaviest rain in 50 years affecting over 2 lakh households, officials will assess damages to homes, livelihoods, and livestock. Sixteen IAS officers will supervise this effort across 32 municipal divisions.
