Managar man kills 18-year-old daughter over 'love affair'

In Muzaffarnagar's Kukra village, Shahid Ahmed from Agra killed his 18-year-old daughter for being in a relationship with a youth from another village. The crime took place at New Mandi police station, where the accused Shahid Ahmed, a daily wager, showed no remorse and confessed to the murder.

AGRA: A man killed his 18-year-old daughter by slitting her throat with a knife after he found out that she was in a relationship with a youth from another village. The crime took place in Muzaffarnagar's Kukra village under New Mandi police station on Thursday morning, said police.Accused Shahid Ahmed (55), a daily wager, did not try to flee the crime scene and waited there until police arrived. He was arrested and the body was sent for postmortem. He showed no remorse and told the locals who had gathered: "Yes, I've killed my daughter. No one else has played any role in the murder. I had repeatedly pleaded with her (daughter) to respect my honour, but she did not listen. So, I killed her." SP (city) Satyanarayan Prajapat said, "The mother of the victim said her daughter was having a relationship with a young man from another village in Bhopa area, which the father didn't approve of. The accused has been arrested." An eyewitness, Saleem Ahmed, said, "The accused father showed no signs of remorse after committing the heinous act."He added, "There is chaos and anxiety among the family members and neighbours after the incident."
