Tourists urinate at Taj Mahal, ABHM functionary brings Gangajal for purification
AGRA: Two tourists were filmed urinating inside the Taj Mahal on Saturday. After a video of the incident surfaced on social media, state coordinator of Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha (ABHM) arrived on Sunday with Gangajal and cow dung to cleanse the site, claiming the monument had been defiled.State coordinator Gopal Chahar, along with his supporters, tried to enter through the western gate but was stopped by security. He staged a protest, insisting Taj Mahal is an ancient Shiv temple, ‘Tejo Mahalaya', and urination had made the place impure. He demanded access to perform a purification ritual with cow dung, but security denied entry.National spokesperson Sanjay Jat said, "Despite the ASI's claim of maintaining high-level vigilance inside Taj Mahal, two people openly urinated within the premises. For us, it is a sacred temple of Lord Shiv. This has hurt our religious sentiments, and we will ensure it is purified according to our rituals. Though we were stopped, we will find a way."Conservation assistant at the Taj Mahal, Prince Vajpayee said, "The video is under investigation, and CISF is working to identify those involved. We will implement measures, including a signboard, to prevent future incidents."
