nadiad: during the recent communal tension, the santram temple here has set an example by the yeoman service it provided equally and fairly to all without making any distinction. the kheda district collector bharat joshi, the kheda district development officer dilip rawal and the kheda dsp manoj agarwal visited the santram temple, where the mahant of santram temple shri narayandasaji maharaj expressed his deep sorrow over incidents of rioting and prayed for speedy improvement in the situation.

the district top officers told tnn here that during the time of communal tension, the santram temple rendered laudable humanitarian service by providing cars for carrying passengers from the railway station to their destinations. the santram temple also provided food to the patients and their attendants who were stranded during the curfew here. for four days, the volunteers of santram temple distributed food at different hospitals in nadiad. according to ayub pathan, a vendor in the railway station, even railway vendors and those railway passengers who were stranded during the riots were served food. in santram temple too, food was served daily for four days to nearly 5,000 people throughout this period.
