PED to run RMSA, model schools

Ahmedabad: The state government has decided to relieve the samagra shiksha department from the responsibility of administering Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan schools, model schools and model day schools. The responsibility has been handed over to the commissioner of schools and the primary education directorate. There are 532 RMSA schools, 72 model schools and 20 model day schools in the state.
The state education department issued a circular dated September 13, announcing that the state samagra shiksha department has been relieved of this responsibility as its primary responsibility is only to set up the schools and not to run them.TNN
